Week 2 : 14 Jan 2011 (Reflection)...

The class starts with forming a group name, group motto, goal and rules. After 15 minutes discussion with team members, here are the results.

Group Name:  3D Ladies. 3D is stands for Dynamic
Group Motto:  Leading To the Future
Goal:            To be a creative, innovative and energetic team.
Rules:

1. be cooperate
2. submit every task in class activity 3 days earlier.
3. share, respect & accept ideas from team members

Then, Dr Zaida distributes an article about Multimedia Programming vs Multimedia Authoring by David Marshall. The question that has been asked is What is Authoring System? How to categorize Authoring System software?

Here are my answers.

Authoring system is program which has pre-programmed elements for the development of interactive multimedia software titles.

Authoring system can be categorized by using metaphor. The authoring paradigm, or authoring metaphor, is the methodology by which the authoring system accomplishes its task.

There are various paradigms/metaphors, including: 

• Scripting Language,
• Iconic/Flow Control ,
• Frame,Card/Scripting,
• Cast/Score/Scripting,
• Hierarchical Object,
• Hypermedia Linkage and Tagging.
